Happy Birthday Luna

Since starting my new job I have been completely flat out!! This post is all about Luna Bebe so I will keep this brief but I am LOVING MY NEW JOB! I never knew I could love my industry more than I already did but here I am. It is really full on and busy but I am learning so much already.

Now onto clearly more important things, my little Luna celebrated her first birthday last week! I can't believe I have had this little ball of energy for this long!

I have heard so many good things about Ollys Box but I was holding off ordering something from them until this very occasion.
I ordered Luna one of their Barkday Boxes and it was filled with so many cool presents.

One of the best things about Luna is that she is a Halloween baby and Ollys Box delivered the goods on some high quality spooky treats and toys.

Luna's Barkday Box contained -

- x1 Fuzzyard Plush Dog Toy (Chase the Cat)
- x1 Happy Halloween Dog Toy
- x1 Gummi Pet Products Knot Ball
- x1 Skull Tennis Ball
- x1 Packet of Halloween Treats from Gourmet Dog Barkery
- x1 Packet of Savourlife Kangaroo Strips
- x1 Fresh Dog Waterless Bath Foam

I was really impressed with the quality of each item we received and I will definitely be ordering from them again (and hoping for a Christmas box release!!)

9 To Thrive

I was lucky enough to attend the 9 to Thrive by Business Chicks expo this weekend and I am so glad I did. If you haven't heard of Business Chicks, you should check them out here.

They had a great range of stalls set up including Benefit, Lorna Jane, Bockers and Pony, Toyota, Pressed Juices and I finally got my hands on one of the donuts from Grumpy Donuts! I had the Buttered Toast flavour which has a brown butter frosting with a toasted brioche crumb. AMAZING!

The highlight of the day for me was Dr Libby. I have never heard of her before this event but she was doing a talk about having too many tabs open in your life and how to keep your energy levels up. I am constantly running around and barely stop so this was something I didn't want to miss. From the get go I was absolutely hooked. She spoke a lot around how eating whole food will not only energise you but will have a larger positive impact on your mental health as well. She also spoke about how you can start to understand the messages your body is sending you and the impact ignoring these signs can have on every aspect of your life. I know this is common knowledge but the way she explained the whole process was really interesting.

I bought some of her books and I am going to really start focusing on looking after myself more because I am constantly tired and worn down which isn't healthy - I feel like this was a bit of a wake up call to make myself a priority.

Just on a final note, Not a lot of you know this but I'm extremely career focused and like to keep my professional life completely separated from social media. It will be incredibly rare for me to ever post about my career on here but I thought it would be worth mentioning that after 3 years I have just finished up at my previous job and start at my new workplace tomorrow. I am incredibly nervous, excited and terrified out about this move but this is such a great opportunity for me and I am so proud of myself!

It feels good to be motivated and excited about where my life is heading.

Spring

I always find that there is something really inspiring about Spring, it feels like a new beginning almost.

The days feel longer and I don't have to come home from work in complete darkness. I'm hoping for more afternoons like these, where I get to lay in the sun and relax.

I'm not too sure where this post is going, I just wanted to share some snaps that I am completely in love with. I am such a lucky girl these days.

Date Night - Au Lac

Scott and I finally had a Saturday night with no plans for the first time in weeks! Lately we seem to be running around non stop so it was really refreshing to have a low key weekend to catch up on sleep and have a spontaneous date night.

We decided to go to Au Lac in Wollongong, this place was really impressive. They offer a huge range of vegetarian and vegan choices and everything we ordered was really tasty!

We probably ordered way too much food for 2 people but we wanted to try as much as we possibly could - and I am so glad we did.

Appetisers -

Soy Chicken Drumsticks
I was really apprehensive about ordering these, the idea of chicken drumsticks freak me out but these were delicious. They use bamboo as the 'bone' - so yummy!

Soy Shrimp on Toast
Scott didn't want these at all but we made a deal that if he could order the drumsticks, I could order to prawn toast. The mixture was almost like mash potato and it was really tasty.

Veggie Dumplings
I assumed these would be steamed dumplings so I was a little disappointed discovering they were fried. I have definitely had better dumplings and probably wouldn't order these again.

Main -

Lemon Soy Chicken
I HATE lemon and chicken together, even if it is soy chicken! Scott had this and loved it, I didn't taste it.

Soy Chicken Satay
This was the dish of the night by far! It was full of a really fresh peanut taste and the vegetables were perfectly crunchy. The soy chicken was great, almost too much like the real thing.

Dessert -

Fried Soy Ice Cream
After years of being Vegan, Scott had NEVER had fried ice cream! As an avid fried ice cream fan this was a bit of a deal breaker for us so it needed to be fixed ASAP. He loved it!

Hello

Hello and Welcome to my Blog!

I have had an active Instagram for a few years now but have decided to create an online journal to share a little bit of my everyday - moments I want to remember, adventures I have taken with the people I love, photos of my little Luna and things that inspires me. Anything that makes my world a happy and positive place!

I hope you enjoy sharing these moments with me.

Lots of love,
