Finders Keepers

I have always wanted to attend the Finders Keepers Markets and I finally had a chance to go with one of my closest girlfriends on Saturday.

Finders Keepers was such an inspiring and creative environment that left me feeling really proud of what local Australian talent has to offer.

I also finally had the chance to meet the lovely Kirbee Lawler who creates the most beautiful vintage inspired bits and pieces that you need in your life!

I spent way too much money on the day but I don't regret a single purchase!

Check out what I fell in love with below -

Love Dem Apples - I tried to find their website but it is no longer active?!

Fresh Prince Splice - I have been searching for a perfect addition to my bathroom and this was the winner! I love it.

It is really hard for me to find a good shirt dress as I have wider hips but a small waist, I am really impressed by the quality and shape of this dress and will absolutely be buying more from their website!

This was my first purchase of the day and it was a really cute find, I am suddenly really into fun necklaces and this one looks like candy.

After having my eye on this gem for months I grabbed it straight away as soon as I saw her at Kirbee's stand!

This print has really beautiful deep colours across it and I couldn't resist.

Another print purchase that I can't wait to hang up in my kitchen!

My final purchase of the day was this absolutely beautiful necklace. The grey in the stone is so incredible and I can't wait to wear it.

I would really love to hear about your favourite local Australian stores so please feel free to leave a comment on here on my instragram letting me know who I should check out!!

My Christmas Must Haves - 2015

It is finally Christmas season! There is nothing better than this time of year, people seem happier, decorations are literally everywhere and you absolutely have an excuse to spoil yourself in limited edition Christmas goodies!

Here are my top 10 Christmas must haves for 2015:

1. Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino - Starbucks
The amount of times I visit Statbucks throughout December is a little alarming. The perfect balance of chocolate and peppermint in this drink is so addictive, then add the crushed up candy cane bits on top and you're hooked! If you haven't been into Starbucks this season yet, you need to do yourself a favour and order one of these!!

2. Frosted Plum Lotion - The Body Shop
This is a fairly new discovery for me, I am currently using the body butter as well as the hand cream and the quality is super impressive. The scent isn't too sweet but it is long lasting which is what I find is missing from a lot of scented creams. I have really sensitive and dry skin and this product moisturises for a long period of time.

3. Santa Baby Lip Tint - Lush
I have struggled to find a great lip stain that doesn't fade or smudge easily but this one here is a winner! It has such a light feel that you don't even notice wearing it, this stain gives off a really lovely winter kissed look that should be worn in the snow! Unfortunately Australia doesn't have that Christmas luxury - this is a must buy while in season.

4. Rose Jam Shower Gel - Lush
Another Lush product I have fallen in love with this season. Along with scented lotions, I find it even harder to find long lasting scents when it comes to shower products. The Rose Jam Shower Gel is nothing like I have ever used before. It smells exactly like traditional Turkish Delight and the scent sits on your skin for hours! It is extremely dangerous as your craving for Turkish Delight will increase as the day progresses.

5. Elf
Absolutely the best Christmas movie ever made, don't try and prove me wrong! This movie never gets old. Buddy the Elf, what's your favourite colour? Francisco, that's fun to say, Francisco...

6. Pavlova - Woolworths
There is nothing better than a good pavlova on Christmas Day. I have a sick addiction to Pavlova and once I start, I can't stop, I genuinely ate half of one to myself last Christmas - with extra cream and raspberry coulis. Christmas is the only time of the year we ever buy Pavlova and I secretly think it's because my family know that I will eat it all!

7. Twisted Peppermint Nourishing Hand Cream - Bath & Body Works
Unfortunately this product isn't available in Australia so I make sure I stock up whenever I am in America around Christmas. The scent doesn't last as long as the Frosted Plum does but it is still a great cream. If you are in America you should be all over this stuff! They also have a candle in the same scent and it is my current favourite.

8. Christmas Nougat Pudding - Darrell Lea
It is probably lucky these things are as sweet as they are because they taste so good that I would eat them all day if I could. Delicious!

9. Ruff on the Housetop Socks - Modcloth
You can't have Christmas without ugly Christmas socks and Modcloth always delivers the goods. These socks are really high in quality and the colour has stayed bright after a few washes.

10. Cedar Leaf & Fruity Clove - Glasshouse Candle
This candle is something else. It smells like a really fresh and light fruity fragrance that is perfect for your home. It is exclusive to Peter Alexander and it is worth the money! -

Enjoy xx

Rice Paper Rolls

I have been exposed to so many new adventures, places and people since dating Scott and I feel really fortunate to have a new group of friends that I get to make and eat amazing food with! (Mostly while I lay around in my PJ's being a grub).

We had a mini dinner party for Scott's housemates a few weeks ago and couldn't think of anything better to make than really fresh and delicious Rice Paper Rolls.

Coming into Summer it has been really warm and the thought of cooking is the last thing I want to do so it was an easy alternative that everyone was psyched about. I have never really made my own Rice Paper Rolls before and I have no idea why because they are so tasty and filling.

If you haven't made these before I definitely recommend it - all you need to do is cut up some vegetables and serve them together on a giant platter, fry up some tofu - we floured some pieces and added in salt and pepper and fried until crispy, serve up some sweet chilli or soy sauce then boil some water to soften the roll cases.

We didn't have any left overs but if you end up with some this would be a perfect meal for a work lunch.

On a side note, the best thing about my new little family is that they are always willing to play Monopoly with me!!

Thanksgiving 2015

I grew up heavily influenced by American culture due to my family having a huge obsession towards the country. We never followed NRL or Cricket, we always followed Baseball and Football and family holidays were always to America. I am very lucky in that aspect and my obsession grew from there.

We held a Thanksgiving feast on Saturday and there was so much food - I feel like Christmas has come early this year.

Scott and I made a Vegan version of a classic Thanksgiving dish, Green Bean Casserole, and in my opinion it tasted exactly the same as the original. Lots of strong garlic and onion flavours along with the crunchy green beans - delicious!

We also made an Avocado Chocolate Mousse which my whole family loved. We have had a request put in for another batch made for our Christmas lunch!

The best part of the day in my opinion was playing with all of the dogs! Luna made a new friend, Logan, who was absolutely adorable.

I am thankful that I get to celebrate these kinds of events with my family, and I am even more thankful that I have a partner who wants to spend time with us and puts up with us yelling across the table at each other constantly.

Oh and what is Thanksgiving without a Star Wars Lightsaber battle?

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

Changes

I have absolutely neglected my blog over the past few weeks.

I feel like I've been stuck in a pretty negative mindset lately and I haven't been able to shake it off. I have really been doubting myself in a lot of ways and I'm not feeling comfortable in my own skin. This of course has triggered my anxiety to go off the rails and it has been a domino effect from there.

I think sometimes you need to step back and realise it's okay to not be okay and that the people who love you won't leave if you're not bouncing with energy and positivity constantly.

It is really important to know when you need to change certain aspects of your life to bring that happiness and stability back and it has taken me a long time to decide where I want to go with my life and how to make those positive changes. I feel like 2016 is going to be a really good year for me and the changes I will be making will help me get out of this dull wave I am currently stuck in.

Happy Birthday Luna

Since starting my new job I have been completely flat out!! This post is all about Luna Bebe so I will keep this brief but I am LOVING MY NEW JOB! I never knew I could love my industry more than I already did but here I am. It is really full on and busy but I am learning so much already.

Now onto clearly more important things, my little Luna celebrated her first birthday last week! I can't believe I have had this little ball of energy for this long!

I have heard so many good things about Ollys Box but I was holding off ordering something from them until this very occasion.
I ordered Luna one of their Barkday Boxes and it was filled with so many cool presents.

One of the best things about Luna is that she is a Halloween baby and Ollys Box delivered the goods on some high quality spooky treats and toys.

Luna's Barkday Box contained -

- x1 Fuzzyard Plush Dog Toy (Chase the Cat)
- x1 Happy Halloween Dog Toy
- x1 Gummi Pet Products Knot Ball
- x1 Skull Tennis Ball
- x1 Packet of Halloween Treats from Gourmet Dog Barkery
- x1 Packet of Savourlife Kangaroo Strips
- x1 Fresh Dog Waterless Bath Foam

I was really impressed with the quality of each item we received and I will definitely be ordering from them again (and hoping for a Christmas box release!!)
