Thanksgiving 2015

I grew up heavily influenced by American culture due to my family having a huge obsession towards the country. We never followed NRL or Cricket, we always followed Baseball and Football and family holidays were always to America. I am very lucky in that aspect and my obsession grew from there.

We held a Thanksgiving feast on Saturday and there was so much food - I feel like Christmas has come early this year.

Scott and I made a Vegan version of a classic Thanksgiving dish, Green Bean Casserole, and in my opinion it tasted exactly the same as the original. Lots of strong garlic and onion flavours along with the crunchy green beans - delicious!

We also made an Avocado Chocolate Mousse which my whole family loved. We have had a request put in for another batch made for our Christmas lunch!

The best part of the day in my opinion was playing with all of the dogs! Luna made a new friend, Logan, who was absolutely adorable.

I am thankful that I get to celebrate these kinds of events with my family, and I am even more thankful that I have a partner who wants to spend time with us and puts up with us yelling across the table at each other constantly.

Oh and what is Thanksgiving without a Star Wars Lightsaber battle?

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!
